Ingersoll – June 29 through July 5

I attended the 10-Day Leaders meeting and found the pool is out of commission, but may be repaired sometime during our week there. So, that affects the initial swim test, and any other pool activities. Sorry, no mile swim this year. ISR has made arrangements with local pools and will bus scouts to town for swim test and swim merit badge classes. Drew needs to have his swim tested before we go, or it will consume most of Sunday to check in.

Also learned Crawdad is cancelled. The site is mostly a sandbar and is unsafe for sliding into the water. ISR is scouting out new sites, but each site will require clearing the creek of obstacles. I replaced the Crawdad lunch activity on Thursday with Indian Village. IV is a totally different location and experience than our previous spider riddled experience. It is a lunch time activity, not an overnight.

Since we are allowed three outpost activities, I gambled the pool will be operational by Friday and requested a pool party during Friday’s lunch. If the pool is not ready, we could switch it to a boating activity. They said they would be flexible.

Does everyone have their medical form (http://www.wdboyce.org/openrosters/DocDownload.aspx?id=136145) in to Mrs. Trembley? The physical must be completed and the form must be dated after 7/5/13. New forms have an “Informed Consent, Release Agreement, and Authorization” section. Older forms had a “Hold Harmless” statement. Please make sure that section is signed. Over-night visitors must complete parts A & B of the medical form. No physical or physician’s signature is required.

We will be sharing the Buckskin campsite with an out-of-council troop. I have no more details. I will find out during the week if there will be spare cabins Friday night for families.

Each troop will need to come up with a roll-call cheer before morning and evening meals. We could also enhance (decorate) our roll-call troop post. Give it some thought. Jared will be our SPL.

Do we have a scout interested in becoming the troop chaplain-aide? Training will occur Monday at 7 PM.
