PACKING LIST

Expect to do a lot of hiking. So, you’ll need a change of socks and underwear for six days and at least four days of outer wear. Manual wash facilities are available. Shorts and short-sleeve shirts are recommended. You’ll need spare shoes in case your primary pair gets wet (we don’t want any blisters); water shoes (shoes that can get wet) for Craw Dad, Tubing, or any boating activity; rain gear, and swimsuit. A pair of long pants is required for some activities, e.g., telephone pole climbing, COPE (13 and older), climbing tower, zip line, or evening/overnight outposts (mosquitoes). You will be expected to be in Class A uniform for morning and evening colors. If you have two sets, bring them. I prefer Class B uniforms (scout tee-shirt) if you have them for all other activities.

You will need your personal hygiene kit (toothbrush, tooth paste, shampoo, shower soap, comb, etc.), bath towel and wash cloth. I have surplus hotel size soap, shampoo, tooth paste, and small combs. Since it will be warm/hot, I will bring a sheet to sleep on and under (a full size sheet folded over) and a light blanket just in case. I have surplus towels, wash cloths, and sheets. Turn all medicines with instructions over to me. No pressurized spray bottles of any thing. Pump bottles are OK. If you need anything let me know. I will not bring extra stuff unless you request it.

Don’t forget a small backpack to carry things around, such as your Scout Handbook, daily schedule, pencil and paper, merit badge supplies, compass, etc. I have spare back packs. You will need a water bottle or Camel Back everywhere you go. The staff is very concerned that everyone stays hydrated. Bring a flash light or head lamp and spare batteries.

Be aware of your merit badge requirements. Bring merit badge books or worksheets if you have them. While most supplies are provided, you may want to bring your own. However, you can not being your own archery, throwing, or shooting hardware. Those taking Brown Sea Island (Joey, Jordan and Drew) will be making a walking staff. You can find or buy one at camp, or bring yours. They can be embellished during leatherwork merit badge. Bring your compass and pocket knife if you have them. (Can not carry pocket knife until I sign your Tot’n Chip card.). Bring a fishing pole or camp will supply one.

BSA uniform (Class A – Khaki shirt and green pants, shorts preferred. If you have them, scout hat and belt). We will be in Class A every morning and evening for flag ceremony.

Troop uniform (Class B – scout tee shirt and conservative pants or shorts). We will be camping for six days. Hand laundry facilities are available.

Although heavy and surplus gear can stay in the trailer which will be taken to the camp site, they like for us to backpack it in and out.

Miscellaneous/Optional: sunglasses, postage stamps, Bible or prayer book, camera, chap stick, spending money, sun block, insect repellent (DEET for skin & Permethrin for clothes), hat/cap, watch,

If you think of anything else, just let us all know.
